About the Sofa

ACME original LAKEWOOD SOFA.

This is a 3-seater in blue-gray.

Based on a used sofa from the 1980s, it has been resized to fit the Japanese physique and lifestyle.

The upholstery uses a long-pile fabric with a thicker yarn count than regular corduroy.

Touching it changes the nap, creating shadows and altering its appearance.

The pattern where thick and thin wales alternate is a pile-cut technique called "oyako-giri," making it a very rare fabric.

Piping is included at key points to make the most of the fabric's characteristics.

Furthermore, the upholstery is intentionally reversed, so the nap stands up when you sit on it, giving it a well-worn look even when new.

The blue-gray upholstery is finished to mimic the faded appearance of aging or sun exposure, expressing a nostalgic "rustic" feel.
